The innovative approach of University of Liverpool's Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme in partnership with Laureate Online Education advocates learning by engagement and action. Students will be able to create professional actionable knowledge, both through classroom learning, and by applied research through Critical Action Learning and Action Research, utilising appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods.

The DBA programme focuses on building critical reflection, critical thinking, and doctoral-level skills. Successful DBA graduates gain the knowledge and expertise necessary to apply their learnings in a variety of organisational and managerial settings. Modules include Change and Crisis Management, Leadership and Community, and Ethics, Sustainability and Social Impact.

The core curriculum of the DBA programme at University of Liverpool consists of contemporary management topics such as:

In addition to rigorous classroom scholarship, students create a Doctoral Development Plan (DDP) which allows the chronicling of the student's development as a doctoral practitioner and researcher.

The DDP also assists in understanding the student's transformation process and reflections on becoming a scholar/practitioner, creating doctoral-level professional knowledge, as well as the development of critical thinking skills such as leading in the midst of ambiguity.

Qualification is completed with an original thesis based upon a critical project the student undertakes in their organisation. Unlike doctoral business programmes that are more theoretical in nature, the thesis for the DBA at University of Liverpool is designed to produce new, actionable knowledge that the successful graduate will immediately use.

To be eligible for this DBA programme you will need a minimum of a Masters degree and 5 years managerial experience
